Meaning: Computer is an electronic device which has the capabilities of accepting data as input, perform series of logical/Arithmetic operation; and displays the result as output/information in such a way man can easily comprehend.
With this simple definition of computer, you can simply come to realise that computer cannot operate without the induction of electronics into them. i.e. Computer can only work with electricity even those battery powered PC like Laptop, Notebooks and other still needs electricity to carry out its day-to-day instructions from the user.
Meanwhile, there are some keyword in our definition which needed to be explained:
Electronic: This indicates that computers only works majorly on electricity
Data: This is a basic raw fact, something that conveys no meaning e.g. if eventually someone come to and say a name of a person to you, even if you know that name, you will first ask, what happens to the name; that's simply because there are some things that needed to be included with the name before it could have a genuine meaning; that's what we call DATA.
Input: This is a unit through which data is being sent into the computer memory for processing. For instance, For you to gain access into WhiteHouse, there should be an invitation and medium through which you gain access into that place; That's what input in computer simply conveys.
Logical/Arithmetic Operation: This is an action unit where data being sent into computer for processing is being weight as regard which is greater than, less than, and equal to. In this sense, data has priorities, which is Symbol follow by Number and then Alphabets. which mean that when you impact many datas into the computer for processing, then the core memory will have to examine all those datas to decide on which is to be first processed. as we progress in this lecture, you shall be understanding some idles.
